Gloff was a bandit in Dorath's Company, and was apparently quite ugly. Dorath remarked that Taran's new blade (which Taran himself thought ungainly) was uglier than Gloff's face, and compared Gloff to Gurgi, a hairy animal-man.

Gloff perished in Dorath's raid on Commot Isav. During that battle, Gloff confronted Taran and displayed an "ugly grin almost of pleasure and eagerness" before he attacked, his fingers clawing at Taran's eyes as a knife flickered in a killing stroke. Llassar Son of Drudwas drove between them, taking the blow, an instant before Drudwas appeared and slew Gloff. Luckily Llassar survived the wound.
